The aim of Electronic Technology Department of Kocaeli Vocational College is to create qualified manpower for sector by giving education to the students who will work in the field of the production, establishment, operation of electronic systems, at technician level which is between a qualified worker and an engineer.

Kabul Koşulları Yükseköğretim Kurulu tarafından belirlenen yönetmelikler çerçevesinde programa öğrenci kabulü merkezi sınav ile yapılmaktadır. Öğrenciler, öğrenim görmek istedikleri program tercihlerini bildirdikten sonra sınavdan aldıkları puana göre Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi tarafından ilgili programlara yerleştirilmektedir. Mesleki eğitim veren kurumlardan mezun olan öğrenciler, mezun oldukları alanda olmaları koşuluyla sınavsız olarak ilgili ön lisans programlarına kayıt yaptırabilirler. Uluslararası öğrenciler, Yükseköğretim Kurulu tarafından belirlenen kurallar çerçevesinde uluslararası geçerliliği olan sınavlarla kabul edilmektedir. Değişim öğrencilerinin programa kabulü ikili anlaşmalar çerçevesinde yapılmaktadır. Student admission to the program is carried out according to the exam scores of a central examination conducted by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) within the framework of the bylaws of Council of Higher Education. After students make their preferences of programs, they are placed to the related program according to their exam scores by Student Selection and Placement Center. There is no examination requirement for the graduates of General Vocational High Schools of relevant field of study. Exchange student admission is also possible via bilateral agreements. Foreign students can register to the program by The Council of Higher Education (YÖK). via internationally recognized examinations. The acceptance of international exchange students is carried out by The International Relations Unit, the acceptance of national exchange students is carried out by The Farabi Exchange Unit and the acceptance of international students is carried out by the Unit of Student Affairs.

So as to get a degree, students have to fulfill minimum 120 ECTS requirement, their 30 days of internship period, have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and pass all the courses listed in the program.

In parallel to day by day increasing importance of electronics, this program covers various application fields from daily life to industry. The education model of the program offers the basic principles of electronics and communication and it also gives knowledge of application fields.
Genel Bilgi Çağdaş teknolojinin oluşmasında en önemli rolü oynayan sektörlerden birisi endüstriyel elektronik alanıdır. Bu alan, sayısal sistemler, bilgisayar ve elektroniği kapsamaktadır. Bu programda, endüstride gerekli olan elektrik enerjisini kontrol altına alarak elektronik cihazlarda kullanılır hale getiren ve endüstride üretimin kontrolünü sağlayan ara eleman yetiştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. 1981 yılında öğrenci alımına başlayan Elektronik ve Otomasyon Bölümü Elektronik Teknolojisi Programı, Kocaeli Meslek Yüksekokulu’nun 1988 yılında Yükseköğretim Kurulu ve Dünya Bankası II. Endüstriyel Eğitim Projesi kapsamına alınması ile yönetici ve öğretim elemanı yetiştirme programları yanında atölye ve laboratuarların çağdaş imkanlar ile donanımı konusunda proje tarafından sağlanan avantajlardan yararlanmıştır. One of the sectors that play a role in the formation of modern technology is the industrial electronics. This field of study covers the digital systems and computer and also electronics communication. In this program; it is aimed to provide the sector with qualified technicians to work between production staff and the engineer by providing training to students who can work on controlling the electrical energy used in electronic devices. Electronics and Automation department began accepting students in 1981. Kocaeli Vocational School and Industrial Electronics Program were included in The Second Industrial Training Program in 1988. Some of the advantages of the project are academic staff training, improvement workshops and up-dating the facilities of laboratories.
Mezunlar İçin İstihdam Olanakları Elektronik Teknolojisi programından mezun olan öğrenciler kazandıkları yeterlikler doğrultusunda; elektronik, otomasyon ve bilişim sektöründe mal/hizmet üreten, küçük ve orta ölçekli işletmeler, sanayi kuruluşlarında ve kamu kurumlarında “Tekniker” olarak istihdam edilirler. Upon a successful completion of the associate program, so as to get a bachelor’s degree, students can apply to programs of related field(s) such as; Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronic Education, Electronic and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Education, Industrial Design, Industrial Design, Industrial Technology Education, Energy Education on condition that they get the required score from Vertical Transfer Exam conducted by OSYM. (Student Selection and Placement Center). Anadolu University Distance Learning Bachelor’s Degree Programs are also available for our graduates.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Lateral or vertical transfer student admission is carried out basing on the "The Transfer Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees, Double Majors, Sub-specialties and Credit Transfer Regulations among Institutions". The prior learning of transfer students is recognized as per the relevant regulations of Council of Higher Education and under the coordination of the Adaptation Committee.

Kocaeli University guarantees in advance that all credits gained and courses received by an Erasmus student after the mobility abroad will be fully recognized and transferred into Kocaeli University system and upon arrival with the approval of the authorities and the student. While preparing the" Erasmus Credit Transfer and Grade Equivalency Table" the ECTS grades are transmitted to Kocaeli University grading system.

Turkish higher education institutions are in the start-up phase about the recognition of non-formal and informal education. However; computer and foreign language skills that students improve on their own, are evaluated through exemption examinations by the university. Students who prove to be proficient in such exams are exempted from related course(s).

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Kocaeli University Education and Training Regulations for Associate and Undergraduate Degrees Depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 30% -70% and So as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam.
