5144082 MIM Structural Engineering on Historical Buildings
The course is aimed on the building technology which affects the architectural design practice and how architecture introduces technological innovations or vice versa. The interaction is pursued by studying, discussing and producing different projects representative of the technological design. Besides, problems of existing buildings in terms of material, structure, pathology and environment, the causes of failure and possible innovative solutions are discussed. At the end, the quality of the buildings, particularly their impact on the environment and sustainability are realized by the practical applications.
