Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1) Learns the differences between the systems used in heavy vehicles and construction machines.
2) Makes the classification of the work machinery, makes the selection of the most suitable tool to provide the highest working efficiency according to the areas of use.
3) Knows the criteria of maintenance of construction equipment, hydraulic systems used in construction machinery, hydraulic motors, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders, breakers, rippers.
4) Knows heavy vehicle transmission systems, knows the braking systems and elements
5) Knows the types of steering systems used in heavy duty vehicles.
6) Knows and compares heavy vehicle suspension systems and know wheel structures.

Course Contents

Classification of working machines, construction machinery, working principles, usage areas, selection and maintenance criteria. Crawler motion systems, hydraulic systems, hydraulic motors, pumps, breakers, rippers, heavy vehicle transmission systems. Heavy vehicle braking systems and components, heavy vehicle steering systems. Heavy vehicle suspension systems and heavy vehicle wheel structures.
